RaspberryPI – project for "Baltic Robo Battles"

Unfortunatelly last year we didn’t have time to take part in Baltic Robo Battless as participants, but this year we have strong decision to finally participate in that event.
This year we would like to take part in this contest as family project in category „FreeStyle”. The contest will be in the second half of May – 23-24.05.2020. More info: https://balticrobo.eu/

We would like to create a robot „ThiefCatcher”, based on RapaberryPI, Windows 10 laptop (DB server) and Android application in local network.
On RaspaberryPI we would like to create only python program for steering the robot ( a self-controlling autonomous vehicle detecting obstacles and patrolling the area using a webcam). On laptop with Windows there should be installed ActianZen db to gather motion detection img files, which then will be avialable (via REST API or Actian client?) from my Android cellphone.
On Android cellphone there will be simple Java application, which aim is:

  • display notifications, when „thief” is caught by camera using motion detector
  • display jpg file with caught thief.

This time we want to use more sophisticated chassis:

We want also to show our two other robots – one based on Lego Boost and the second one build from Chineese bricks – remote controlled racer.
