Women Go Tech – Week 4: Wrapping Up an Amazing Journey

The last week of the Women Go Tech course has just ended, and honestly, it went by so quickly I barely noticed! This fourth week was packed with fascinating topics that really expanded my understanding of AI and its real-world applications.

Here’s what I had the opportunity to learn about:

1. Ethics of AI

We dove into the ethical questions surrounding artificial intelligence — issues like bias, fairness, transparency, and responsibility. It’s so important to remember that AI is only as good as the data and design behind it. This session really opened my eyes to how we must be careful not to unintentionally cause harm or reinforce inequalities when developing AI tools.

Practical AI prompt example for Ethics:
“Explain how AI bias can affect decision-making in hiring processes, and suggest ways to reduce it.”
This prompt can help you understand ethical challenges and think critically about AI use.

2. AI Usage in Cybersecurity

The cybersecurity session was super exciting! AI is increasingly used to detect cyber threats faster and more accurately than traditional methods. It can spot unusual patterns in network traffic, identify phishing attempts, or predict potential vulnerabilities.

Practical AI prompt example for Cybersecurity:
“Generate a list of common phishing email characteristics and how to identify them.”
This can help users learn to protect themselves from cyber attacks.

3. AI for Mental Health Wellbeing

One of the most inspiring parts was learning about how AI can support mental health. From chatbots that offer emotional support to apps that track mood patterns and suggest coping strategies, AI is becoming a helpful aid for mental wellbeing.

As a practical task, we got to try out some AI prompts designed to help with mental health.

Practical AI prompt example for Mental Health:
“Give me five simple daily mindfulness exercises to reduce anxiety.”
Or
“Help me write a positive affirmation for stressful situations.”

Every webinar was incredibly engaging and gave me a chance to see AI from different perspectives. Learning how AI intersects with ethics, cybersecurity, and mental health showed me just how broad and impactful this technology really is.

I feel so motivated to keep exploring these topics and maybe even apply some of these AI tools in my own life or work.

Have you ever tried using AI for mental health support or cybersecurity awareness? Or thought about the ethical side of AI? Let me know—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
